Frosty Evening

I've recently got a new digital SLR, a Nikon D50 (don't know if that's really good or what, but i like it!), and i have really gotten interested in photography since, because i feel i can capture crisper photo's, or really soft ones, and experiment with exposure and lighting and shutter speeds...i'm not very good right now, but i hope to really get into the hobby and improve!
I know this particular plant isn't a typical 'pretty' subject, but i don't just want to single out all the showy aspects of nature and the world, i want to capture things that aren't so inviting, and try and help people see more sides of the world ^^ This Earth has so many beautiful colours and shapes, all you have to do is take a walk outside, or even at home, to see
